Ingredients :
3 cups of urad dal (split )
1 cup rice
1 tsp green chili paste
2 potatoes
salt to taste
few methi seeds
2-3 tsp yogurta
oil
While making handvo :
oil
sesame seeds
mustard seeds
batter using above ingredients
Directions :
1)Soak the dal and rice in afternoon if you are planning to make the handvo as next day breakfast or lunch.
2)Same night you need to grind the dal and rice into smooth batter.
3)Add 1-2 tsp hot oil,1/4 cup hot water,curd and methi seeds to it and let it ferment whole night in a warm place (best place I think is oven).
4)Next morning add grates potatoes,green chilli and salt to the batter and mix well.
5)Take a non-stick pan add 1 tsp oil to it ,add mustard and sesame seeds and let it splutter.
Add around 1 soup pouring spoon of batter (just like pancake) and let it cook on one side until it turns bit brown.
6)Once done flip over the handvo and cover it for few minutes.
Flip once or twice to get nice color and crispiness.
Serve it with sauce,chutney or curd.
